Gone are the days where colour laser printers cost thousands, these days to can pick one up for just a few hundred. The Samsung CLP-300 is one such colour laser printer and I know what your thinking, the Samsung toner cartridges cost a fortune, well no they don’t. Samsung CLP-300 toner cartridges don’t cost that much more than your average set of inkjet cartridges and further more there are compatible printer cartridges available and they cost 50% less than the genuine Samsung ones and yield the same number of pages. Before you even take the CLP-300 out of its box you realise that it’s a very compact machine and once you remove the packing it really looks like a neat piece of kit. It’s obvious that Samsung have put a lot of thought into the CLP-300’s design as anything is very well packaged and they have managed to fit an awful lot into a very small space. The toner cartridges consist of four separate units each about the size of a small Pringles tub and each one slots neatly into the machine from the front, hidden behind the front panel. Print quality is very good whether printing black or colour, although photo prints aren’t quiet the standard of an inkjet printer but the combination of speed and equal quality printing text and graphics make the CLP300 a great all round colour laser printer.
